He was a Striker.
In his Youth career he represented São Cristóvão.
During his Senior career he played for Cruzeiro, PSV, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Corinthians.
He played for Brazil at three age levels.
For the national team he scored 62 goals in 98 games.
He retired from football in 2011.
