The Top 5 Players Based on Ability in Each Team (2019/20- Part 7)
I have devised a Premier League Pecking Order for every team in the Premier League divided into ten parts with two teams per part. The ability of each team’s top 5 players with the parts been done in alphabetical order, with regards to the team’s names. To be eligible to be a part of the Premier League Pecking Order a player must have been part of a Premier League team as of January 1, 2020. It was formulated up until March 10, which was the last Premier League fixture prior to postponement. There are 5 players that have been selected based on their ability. The 7th part comprises of Newcastle United and Norwich City.
Newcastle United
5- Jamaal Lascelles may have only started 18 of 29 games, but 7 of Newcastle United’s 9 clean sheets were with him playing in the team. Lascelles has been a key part of Newcastle United sitting in 13th place on 35 points. That equates to 8 points outside the relegation zone!
4- Federico Fernandez has started every game after only featuring off the substitutes bench in the 1st 9 games of the Premier League 2019/20 Season.
3- Jonjo Shelvey is Newcastle United’s leading goal scorer with 5 goals, despite only featuring in 17 of Newcastle United’s 29 games. That’s an average of nearly 1 goal ever games in the Premier League 2019/20 Season. Shelvey is first and foremost a central midfielder, but goals help.
2- Miguel Almiron is a quality player that is a midfielder/striker. Almiron may have only scored 2 goals and provided 1 assist in the Premier 2019/20 Season, but his got a lot of ability. Those stats aren’t a true reflection of what his capable of.
1- Martin Dubravka has made the most saves of any goalkeeper in the Premier League in the 2019/20 Season. Dubravka has made a total of 116 saves this Season. He has kept 9 clean sheets. Despite that he has conceded the 6th most goals this Season, which is a reflection on the Newcastle United defence.
Norwich CIty
5- Max Aarons plays right back for Norwich City. Aarons has only missed 2 games in the Premier League 2019/20 Season. He has provided 2 assists.
4- Emiliano Buendia has contributed to Norwich City performing to the Premier League standard at times by providing 7 assists. Buendia is a player that has the capability to be highly regarded. He just needs to keep on improving.
3- Tim Krul has made the 4th most saves of any goalkeeper. Krul is a goalkeeper with a fair amount of ability. He has only had 5 clean sheets, which doesn’t sound like much, however, with Norwich City languishing on the bottom of the Premier League 2019/20 table its impressive.
2- Troy Cantwell is Norwich City’s 2nd best player when he plays to the level, he is capable of. Even though Norwich City sit last of the Premier League 2019/20 table as it stands, Cantwell has scored 6 goals and provided 2 assists.
1- Teemu Pukki scored 11 goals and provided 3 assists in the Premier 2019/20 Season as it stands. Pukki is a player with plenty of ability as he is clinical in the final 3rd.
