Premier League 2019/20- Matchweek 29 Review (Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool)

Premier League 2019/20 Matchweek 29 My Review (Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool)

It’s fair to say that the title is now a forgone conclusion that Liverpool win the Premier League title this Season. The Premier League is entertaining, nevertheless as anyone can beat anyone, with Liverpool losing 3-nil to Watford in Matchweek 28. A bigger issue than football is that the last fixture of Matchweek 29 between Manchester City and Arsenal was postponed! Back to the football now; the battle for a top 4 finish is still exciting!

Manchester United (2) v Manchester City (0) My Review

This was an important game for Manchester United as they would want to ensure that they are involved in next Season’s Uefa Champions League competition! Manchester United had just 27.7% possession, but they had 6 shots on target to Manchester City’s 4! It’s the quality of the possession that matters as Manchester United were more efficient. Anthony Martial scored, which showed how well Manchester United have coped without Marcus Rashford who has been injured. Manchester United are now 3 points behind Chelsea in 4th place, but Manchester United have a better goal difference.

Chelsea (4) v Everton (0) My Review

Chelsea dominated the game with 11 shots on target to Everton’s 1! That sums up the game; it was extremely one sided! What would please Coach Frank Lampard was that Chelsea had 4 separate goal scorers, with no one scoring a brace, which showed that Chelsea are unpredictable with many options in the final third. Chelsea controlled possession with 60.2%, which was a factor in them having 17 shots to Everton’s 3, which showed that there was only ever one team that was going to win this game; Chelsea.

Liverpool (2) v Bournemouth (1) My Review

This game certainly wasn’t a certainty, which was substantiated as Bournemouth took the lead in the 9th minute thanks to striker Callum Wilson. Liverpool controlled the game after that point with 74.5% of possession and 14 shots to Bournemouth’s 6. Despite the fact that Liverpool were trailing 1-nil they led 2-1 in the 33rd minute thanks to arguably their 2 best attacking players; Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane and after that it was practically a forgone conclusion that Liverpool would claim all 3 points.
