AFL Round 11 My Preview

AFL Round 11 My Preview

There weren’t any blowouts last week with the biggest margin in the 9 games, 31 points, hopefully that’s a sign that there will be a lot of close games in Round 11 of the 2019 AFL season.

My choice of a definite winner for this Round: Magpies

Friday Night Game

Kangaroos v Tigers
This could be an intriguing contest if the Kangaroos play to the level that they are capable of, as they have some good players in their team. It will be interesting to see how Rhyce Shaw goes in his first game as interim coach of the Kangaroos.
Key matchup: Ben Cunnington v Trent Cotchin
Kangaroos Game Changer: Mason Wood
Tigers Game Changer: Noah Balta
My Prediction: Tigers

Saturday Afternoon Games

Magpies v Dockers
It’s 2nd against 8th in this one; the Magpies will look to further solidify their top 8 spot, while the Dockers will be eager to stay in the top 8.
Key matchup: Steele Sidebottom v Darcy Tucker
Magpies Game Changer: Josh Thomas
Dockers Game Changer: Ed Langdon
My Prediction: Magpies

Giants v Suns
These teams may be separated by 4 wins, but the Suns have proved to be a competitive team, they have often been a chance to win their games for 3 quarters.
Key matchup: Tim Tarranto v Jack Bowes
Giants Game Changer: Lachie Whitfield
Suns Game Changer: Jack Martin
My Prediction: Suns

Cats v Swans
Despite being 1st against 15th, if Round 10 was anything to go by this could be an exciting game to watch.
Key matchup: Cameron Guthrie v Luke Parker
Cats Game Changer: Mitch Duncan
Swans Game Changer: Will Hayward
My Prediction: Swans

Saturday Night Games

Lions v Hawks
This is a tough game to tip a winner in, with just 1 win separating these teams,
Key matchup: Dayne Zorko v James Worpel
Lions Game Changer: Alex Witherden
Hawks Game Changer: Ricky Henderson
My Prediction: Hawks

Demons v Crows
This is a game where the result could go either way.
Key matchup: Clayton Oliver v Rory Sloane
Demons Game Changer: Angus Brayshaw
Crows Game Changer: Brad Crouch
My Prediction: Demons

Sunday Afternoon Games

Saints v Power
Both of these teams are sitting on 5 wins so it’s a tough game to tip a winner in.
Key matchup: Jade Gresham v Travis Boak
Saints Game Changer: Jack Billings
Power Game Changer: Karl Amon
My Prediction: Saints

Bombers v Blues
The Bombers need to win this game in order to stay in touch with the top 8, while the Blues need to win for their morale.
Key matchup: Zach Merrett v Patrick Cripps
Bombers Game Changer: Zach Merrett
Blues Game Changer: Sam Walsh
My Prediction: Blues

Eagles v Bulldogs
This seems like a forgone conclusion for the Eagles to win, but I believe that the Bulldogs will upset the Eagles.
Key matchup: Nathan Vardy v Tim English
Eagles Game Changer: Andrew Gaff
Bulldogs Game Changer: Lachie Hunter
My Prediction: Bulldogs
