AFL Round 5 My Preview

AFL Round 5 My Preview

Round 5 should be an entertaining Round with many of the games that are going to be played unpredictable on paper, but of course the game isn’t played on paper!

My choice of a definite winner for this Round: Giants

 Thursday Night Game

Lions v Magpies
The Lions and the Magpies need a win to stay in touch with the top 4. This game is a tough one to pick on paper and should be a tight contest.
Key matchup: Lachie Neale v Scott Pendlebury
Lions Game Changer: Eric Hipwood
Magpies Game Changer: Tom Phillips
My Prediction: Lions

Friday Afternoon Game

Kangaroos v Bombers
The Kangaroos will see as a winnable game, but so will the Bombers so this could be a very intriguing contest.
Key matchup: Shaun Higgins v Zach Merrett
Kangaroos Game Changer: Trent Dumont
Bombers Game Changer: Darcy Parish
My Prediction: Kangaroos

Friday Night Game

Eagles v Power
The Power can win this game if they play to their optimum level.
Key matchup: Nathan Vardy v Scott Lycett
Eagles Game Changer: Andrew Gaff
Power Game Changer: Brad Ebert
My Prediction: Power

Saturday Afternoon Games

Giants v Dockers
This is most probably the certainty of the Round; that is that the Giants are victorious in this one.
Key matchup: Zac Williams v Ed Langdon
Giants Game Changer: Josh Kelly
Dockers Game Changer: Andrew Brayshaw
My Prediction: Giants

Demons v Saints
The Saints need to continue their momentum, while the Demons need to bounce back.

The Tigers will welcome back Dustin Martin, despite the fact that they didn’t even need him last Round.
Key matchup: Toby Nankervis v Callum Sinclair
Tigers Game Changer: Brandon Ellis
Swans Game Changer: Luke Parker
My Prediction: Tigers

 Sunday Afternoon Games

Bulldogs v Blues
This is game is an important one for different reasons with the Bulldogs on form, while the Blues are winless thus far.
Key matchup: Tom Liberatore v Patrick Cripps

Crows v Suns
The Suns will see this as an opportunity to get an upset win over a disappointing Crows outfit.
Key matchup: Matt Crouch v Jack Bowes
Crows Game Changer: Rory Sloane

My Prediction: Suns

Monday Afternoon Games

Hawks v Cats

This could be an extremely tough game to pick a winner in on paper, with the Hawks just having the edge in my opinion.

Cats Game Changer: Brandan Parfitt
My Prediction: Hawks
