Shannon Hurn was prolific for the Eagles winning the Ross Glendenning Medal. Robbie Tarrant won plenty of the ball playing at full back for the Kangaroos. Shane Savage played an outstanding game winning a lot of possessions. Brad Sheppard showed that he is definitely in the Eagles best 22 with a solid display in the Derby. Shane Edwards played at centre half back, which clearly showed his versatility and how valuable a player he is for the Tigers. Rory Laird provided plenty of run off a half back flank.
Midfielders
Brandon Ellis was outstanding for the Tigers, Ellis illustrated why he belongs at AFL level with a quality performance. Clayton Oliver helped the Demons get over the line against the Swans. Andrew Gaff does what he normally does, which is win plenty of the ball and have a big impact on the contest, in last Saturday night’s derby.
Forwards
Tom Lynch was handy for the Crows, Lynch kicked a couple of goals for the Crows. Brad Ebert hit the scoreboard on a couple of occasions for the Power. Brandan Parfitt was possibly the Cats best player against the Giants. Mitch Brown scored 3 goals for the Bombers, while Tom Lynch of the Tigers kicked 6 goals. Jacob Hopper accumulated 31 possessions.
Followers
Brodie Grundy was outstanding, Marcus Bontempelli and Tom Phillips were all prolific in the Magpies and Bulldogs game.
Interchange
Anthony Mcdonald-Tipungwuti was in good form for the Bombers. Josh Kelly was up to his usual standard for the Giants, as were Lachie Neale and Zach Merrett for their respective teams.
