What a Round of Football Round 18 of the A-League Should be if it is Anywhere near as Exciting as Round 17!

A-League Round 18 My Preview

This is an intriguing week of football. It’s fantastic to see that all 5 games were tough to predict; it should be unpredictable as far as results are concerned and therefore entertaining.

My Choice of a definite winner for this Round: Jets

Thursday February 7th

Jets v Phoenix
The Jets could well be too good in this one as they will be looking to keep the momentum up from last weekend and keep their hopes of playing finals alive, while the Phoenix were disappointing last Round, that’s why based on last week’s performances the Jets should win this one.
Jets Game Changer: Roy O’Donovan
Phoenix Game Changer: Liberato Cacace
My Prediction: Jets

Friday February 8th

Roar v Sky Blues
If the Roar perform the way they did in the 1st half last week then this should be a good contest. This is a possible upset with the Sky Blues lucky to win last Round, thanks to a penalty save by Andrew Redmayne. This could be an upset if the Roar perform to their potential.
Roar Game Changer: Matt Mckay
Sky Blues Game Changer: Rhyan Grant
My Prediction: Roar

Saturday February 9th

Wanderers v Mariners
This is a game that could well decide who finishes last on the ladder at the end of the current A-League season. Both teams need to improve on the way that they performed last Round. This is a tough game to pick a winner in, as the Mariners find a way to capitulate in the 2nd halves of recent times. It’s tough to pick the Wanderers with any confidence, but they will have a point to prove after a deplorable performance in the 1st half especially last weekend.
Wanderers Game Changer: Mitchell Duke
Mariners Game Changer: Andrew Hoole
My Prediction:

Ciry v Reds
This is an interesting game on paper; City need to bounce back from a loss, while the Reds will want to keep the momentum up from their freakish comeback win last Round. New City signing Jamie Maclaren should make an impact, but unfortunately for City it’s unlikely to be enough to get any points from the match as the Reds should be too good in this one.
City Game Changer: Jamie Maclaren
Reds Game Changer: George Blackwood
My Prediction: Reds

Sunday February 10th

Victory v Glory
A win here could all but seal the minor premiership for the Glory, but it’s not going to be easy as the Victory managed to claim all 3 points last weekend despite Ola Toivonen and Keisuke Honda not playing a single minute. This is yet another tough game to pick a result it, but the Victory will be at home and looking to bounce back from their loss against the Glory at home earlier this season.
Victory Game Changer: Ola Toivonen
Glory Game Changer: Chris Ikonomidis
My Prediction: Victory
