AFL Round 20 My Preview

AFL Round 20 My Preview

AFL round 20 should be extremely entertaining, especially because it’s starting with the Tigers and Cats playing each other in an intriguing clash on Friday night. The Hawks and Bombers should be an attacking game if their respective performances in round 19 are anything to go by, while there is the Showdown and the Derby on the same weekend!

My choice of a definite winner for this Round: Crows

Friday Night Game

Tigers v Cats
The Tigers are clearly the team to beat, while the Cats were impressive in round 19. This could be an interesting game.
Key matchup: Trent Cotchin v Joel Selwood
Tigers Game Changer: Shane Edwards
Cats Game Changer: Rhys Stanley
My Prediction: Tigers

Saturday Games

Hawks v Bombers
Both of these teams have been in good form of late. This should be a free flowing, attacking contest.
Key matchup: Tom Mitchell v Zach Merrett
Hawks Game Changer: Jaeger O’Meara
Bombers Game Changer: Devon Smith
My Prediction: Bombers

Lions v Kangaroos
The Lions played well for a month, but unfortunately, they were underwhelming in round 19, while the Kangaroos caused a massive upset against the Eagles last Sunday.
Key matchup: Stefan Martin v Todd Goldstein
Lions Game Changer: Dayne Beams
Kangaroos Game Changer: Jarrad Waite
My Prediction: Kangaroos

Crows v Power
Even though the Power won and the Crows lost last weekend, I’m expecting the Crows to get the four points.
Key matchup: Sam Jacobs v Paddy Ryder
Crows Game Changer: Matt Crouch
Power Game Changer: Robbie Gray
My Prediction: Crows

Saturday Night Games

Saints v Bulldogs
There is still plenty for, with both these sides needing a win for morale or at least a good performance to give their fans something to cheer about.
Key matchup: Sebastian Ross v Mitch Wallis
Saints Game Changer: Jade Gresham
Bulldogs Game Changer: Jack Macrae
My Prediction: Saints

Swans v Magpies
The Swans need to win this game to be a in contention for a spot in the finals, while the Magpies are still a mathematical chance of missing out on the top eight.
Key matchup: Luke Parker v Steele Sidebottom
Swans Game Changer: Harry Cunningham
Magpies Game Changer: Taylor Adams
My Prediction: Swans

Sunday Games

Blues v Giants
The Giants are back in the premiership race, after playing some scintillating football, while the Blues managed to have their second victory of the season against the Suns last weekend.
Key matchup: Patrick Cripps v Steven Coniglio
Blues Game Changer: Marc Murphy
Giants Game Changer: Callan Ward
My Prediction: Giants

Demons v Suns
The Demons should win this game against the Suns comprehensively, but in sport you never know what is going to happen, which was shown in round 18 by the Suns when they had an upset victory over the Swans.
Key matchup: Angus Brayshaw v Touk Miller
Demons Game Changer: Angus Brayshaw
Suns Game Changer: Aaron Young
My Prediction: Demons

Eagles v Dockers
The Derby should be controlled by the Eagles, as they have more at stake, with the Dockers only having pride to play for.
Key matchup: Andrew Gaff v David Mundy
Eagles Game Changer: Jack Redden
Dockers Game Changer: Lachie Neale
My Prediction: Eagles
