Preview- Round Thirteen 2018 (AFL)
We hope Round Thirteen will be an exciting one as there are six games over four days. The Saints in particular are in need of a win, while the Bulldogs, Blues and Suns need to put up a fight.
My choice of a definite winner for this Round: Cats
Byes: Bombers, Demons, Giants, Kangaroos, Lions, Magpies
Power v Bulldogs
The Power sit eighth on the ladder and have been in some descent form of late, while the Bulldogs have been struggling and they need a win.
Key matchup: Ollie Wines v Lachie Hunter
Power Game Changer: Sam Gray
Bulldogs Game Changer: Marcus Bontempelli
My Prediction: Power
Swans v Eagles
The Swans sit third on the ladder, despite losing some games at home this season. The game this weekend against the Eagles will be a good test for the Swans as the Eagles have only lost one game this season.
Key matchup: Nic Naitanui v Callum Sinclair
Swans Game Changer: Lance Franklin
Eagles Game Changer: Josh J. Kennedy
My Prediction: Swans
Blues v Dockers
The Dockers have been disappointing away from home, but they should be too good for the struggling Blues. The Dockers need to win this if they are going to keep their very slight finals hopes alive.
Key matchup: Patrick Cripps v Nat Fyfe
Blues Game Changer: Matthew Wright
Dockers Game Changer: Lachie Neale
My Prediction: Dockers
Suns v Saints
This is an important game for both teams as they are in need of the four points on offer. In particular it’s a game that both coaches need to win.
Key matchup: David Swallow v Jack Steven
Suns Game Changer: Aaron Young
Saints Game Changer: Shane Savage
My Prediction: Saints
Hawks v Crows
With both teams sitting outside the top eight they could use a win to keep their hopes of playing in September up. These two teams have been erratic and in inconsistent form.
Key matchup: Tom Mitchell v Richard Douglas
Hawks Game Changer: Tom Mitchell
Crows Game Changer: Richard Douglas
My Prediction: Hawks
Cats v Tigers
This game is an important one for the respective teams if they are going to finish in the top four, which will play a part in determining whether they are a premiership contender.
Key matchup: Patrick Dangerfield v Dustin Martin
Cats Game Changer: Jed Bews
Tigers Game Changer: Shane Edwards
My Prediction: Cats
