A-League Round Four Preview

Round Four Preview (Hyundai A-League)

The A-League has started with attacking football being played. Incredibly there has been at least one goal scored in every game in the first three games. All five games this week are fascinating. In my opinion there are two picks for game of the round; Reds v City and Jets v Wanderers. Hopefully there is another Round full of goals so the A-League can grow and the game is attractive to the neutrals.

Sky Blues v Glory Preview

The Sky Blues are coming off a confidence boosting draw against the Wanderers. They are unbeaten in their first three games. While, Glory are coming off a come from behind win against the Mariners. It should be an attacking game with both teams scoring two goals in the last round.

Sky Blues Game Changer: Josh Brillante

Glory Game Changer: Diego Castro

My Prediction: Sky Blues

Phoenix v Roar Preview

The Phoenix will be missing Andrew Durante and Marco Rossi due to injury. This should mean that Mullen plays in central defence with a make shift central defender, possibly Doyle.  Phoenix have been competitive this season without much reward. The Phoenix have had the opportunity to get something out of all three games. It has been much publicized that the Roar have had issues off the field. They are also missing key player Kristensen. Both teams are in need of the three points on offer. That should make for an entertaining encounter.

Phoenix Game Changer: Michael Mcglinchey

Roar Game Changer: Fahid Ben Khalfallah

My Prediction: Phoenix

Reds v City Preview

Both teams go into the game unbeaten after three games of the season. The Sky Blues have been fortunate to some extent to be seven points from a possible nine points, while City have won all three games that they have played in. The Reds are missing a few players through injury. First and foremost City have been extremely compact in defence, keeping a clean sheet in two of three games so the Reds will have to be at their best if they are to get anything out of the game.

Reds Game Changer: George Blackwood

City Game Changer: Stefan Mauk

My Prediction: City

Jets v Wanderers Preview

The Wanderers and the Jets promises to be an exciting clash. They are relatively evenly matched. The Jets have been formidable in attack scoring at least two goals in each of their first three weeks. Vargas should be a big loss, while Wayne Brown should get an opportunity to replace the crafty play maker. The Wanderers are also unbeaten in their first three matches; this should make for an enthralling contest. Caretaker coach Foxe will be keen for them to maintain their unbeaten run.

Jets Game Changer: Roy O’Donovan

Wanderers Game Changer: Robert Cornthwaite

My Preview: Jets

Mariners v Victory Preview

Both teams will see this game as a possible three points. This should bring about an attacking style of football. It’s been a tough season for both these teams, with them only taking one point from the first three games respectively. It should mean that the game should feature attacking football. The loss of Berisha could hurt the Victory or make them more unpredictable; time will tell. Both managers should be looking for the three points. Hopefully, the game is played at a high tempo.

Mariners Game Changer: Andrew Hoole

Victory Game Changer: Leroy George

My Prediction: Mariners
