My Socceroos line up vs Thailand
Goalkeeper- Danny Vukovic- May do well when given a chance as he progressed to a move to the Belgian league.
Left Back- Alex Gersbach- The Socceroos need cover in the left back position. Brad Smith looked good when attacking, but looked vulnerable in defence.
Centre Back- Mark Milligan (Captain)- Can also play midfield with Australia chasing goals in order to get automatic qualification for Russia 2018. Always plays his role with no fuss.
Centre Back- Matthew Spiranovic- Had a reasonable game against Japan. Always performs admirably when playing for the national team. The main option in the defensive part of the field, with Sainsbury battling injury.
Right Back- Ryan Mcgowan- The Socceroos should play a four man backline after being exposed defensively with playing three at the back.
Centre Midfield: Aaron Mooy- Was sorely missed against Japan. Will look to replicate his start to the premier league season.
Centre Midfield: Mustafa Amini- Will take the pressure off Aaron Mooy. A good passer of the ball.
Centre Midfield: Massimo Luongo- Capable of creating scoring opportunities when playing at his best.
Attacking Midfield: James Troisi- Can play ninety minutes if called upon. Australia look more dangerous when he is on the pitch.
Attacking Midfield: Matthew Leckie (Vice Captain)- Needs to feature more in the final third. With the loss of Sainsbury through injury, probably one of the national team’s most important player’s.
Striker: Tim Cahill- Always makes something happen in the attacking eighteen yard box. No one else commands a start as a striker.
Bench: Tom Juric- One of the few scoring options for the Socceroos.
Bench: Jamie Maclaren- Has an ability to score goals. Needs more of a chance at national level.
Bench: Awar Mabil- A good option too have off the bench. Will add enthusiasm into the mix. Should play a few minutes to show his value.
